received the Best Presentation Award at the 2019 International Conference on
Big Data Engineering (BDE 2019) during from June 11th to 13th 2019, at the
Regal Oriental Hotel, Hong Kong, with a paper entitled ¡°AI-based big-data
decision making support systems for Korean contractor¡¯s life-cycle project
management of overseas EngineeringProcurement-Construction
(EPC)¡±. Jae-Min Cho (M. S. course student, PSL, GIFT), Ho-Young Roh
(senior researcher, PSL, GIFT), and Hyun-Soo Kim (deputy administrator, Sang-A
Management) were co-authors of this conference paper, which reports the first
year¡¯s progress of a research project called ¡°Development of AI-based big data
analysis support systems for EPC projects¡±, sponsored by the Korean government
(Ministry of Trade Industry and Energy: MOTIE/KIET) in alliance with Korean engineering contractors, with a fund of about US$ 4.5 million (2018-2021). BDE 2019 was an international forum for sharing knowledge and results in theory, methods and new advances and research results in the fields of Big Data Engineering. The conference brought together researchers and practitioners from both academia and industry to meet and share cutting-edge development in the field. The conference encompassed significant contributions in theoretical and practical aspects in all major fields of Big Data Engineering.
